Our Aims

Restoration of the Barnsley and Dearne & Dove Canals would:
	Reinstate a vital missing link in the national waterways network.
	Breath new life and prosperity into an area which has suffered economic decline, by creating employment opportunities throughout the region.
	Create a focus for community, recreational and educational opportunity and involvement.
	Create a green corridor, which can be used by walkers, cyclists, anglers and wildlife.
	Restore an important historic element in the region's industrial heritage.
	Create new leisure and tourism opportunities.
